Tony’s Background
Tony is a South Texan with 25 years’ experience in enterprise IT consulting and sales. After studying engineering and computer science at the U. S. Naval Academy and UT Austin, he soon realized that most IT salespeople had no idea what they were selling—so he decided to channel his desire for excellence and passion for serving others into a lifelong career providing IT customer service. He spent the first ten years of his career serving engineers and architects as a Computer Aided Design consultant, providing turnkey systems and specialized software from Autodesk. Later, he broadened his focus to enterprise IT consulting and sales, with an emphasis on professional and managed services. Since joining Viyu in 2009, Tony works daily to improve the lives and processes of its client companies by harnessing the power of technology.
What value do you bring to Viyu and its clients?
“As an account manager at Viyu, it is my job to listen and learn,” Tony says. “My objective is to understand the needs and requirements for networks, data centers, voice, Internet, Wi-Fi, network security and IT management. Once I have a good understanding of the requirements, I act as the intermediary between the client and our professional services and managed services teams. Ultimately, I am focused on aligning myself with the customer and their goals, and providing solutions that solve their problems.” Rather than focusing on making sales, Tony strives to create customers for life. Maybe that’s why many of his customers have been working with him for more than 20 years.
