McKinney Christian Academy came to Viyu with a wide range of technology needs and only one internal IT professional responsible for managing them.
The school needed new hardware, consulting, networking, and cabling expertise but lacked the internal resources needed to design and implement the required solutions.
Business continuity was also a concern. If the school lost power or Internet connectivity, its IT director worried that employees could lose access to critical files, software, and databases.
MCA needed a technology partner that could fill the gaps in its internal team while helping modernize and protect its environment.

Network Modernization
Viyu initially implemented wireless technology and replaced aging network switches before later designing a complete Cisco Meraki environment.

The updated environment included high-availability firewalls, switches, indoor access points, and outdoor wireless access points to provide coverage across the campus.

After evaluating cloud options including Azure, AWS, and vArida, MCA selected Viyu’s vArida Cloud environment for its critical systems.

Continued Access During a Major Weather Event
When a Texas winter storm caused a sprinkler system to freeze and flood MCA’s buildings, onsite hardware was damaged.
Because critical resources were hosted in vArida Cloud, the school was still able to access the systems and information it needed while repairs were underway.
